Shop In A Box
Whilst everyone important (ie not us) are up at Maritime at the Off Road Wars, and Mark’s done his back in, again, I’m in the shop on me own preparing for TORCH tomorrow.
The general 2011 plan is TORCH and Mid-South Regionals. And for all of them we’re planning on taking a mobile shop. A Shop In A Box. Or several bozes.
When we started we literally had a jiffy bag with a few Lazy Balls in it. Now we seem to have half a dozen boxes of stuff to flog in a field.
We’re concentrating on the consumables, so it’s all tyres, spares, oils, etc.
As we don’t want to have the hassle of stripping the shop every meeting, there’s a bit of a juggling act to keep stuff in the shop and keep stuff in boxes.
So, the majority of stuff is in both places, just a few things get swapped between the two. That way we can just check over the boxes and chuck em in the van and we’re ready to go. And the shop still looks okay with at least one of everything on a peg.
It’s a big ol’ learning curve, but it’s so much fun fiddling around with RC stuff all the time.

Racing Plans For 2011
The new outdoor season is fast approaching, and the usual discussions about what racing we’re going to do have been happening.
Well, it’s definitely off-road!
Last year myself and Bob seemed to concentrate on the Nationals, and jolly good fun they were too. Mark and Matt had their focus more on the regionals, getting themselves F3 and F4 gradings.
This coming year it looks like we’re going to concentrate on regionals , Mid South region. This is mainly due to opening the shop on Fridays and Saturdays, we don’t want to commit to too many long weekends away. Regionals are just Sunday meetings, so we can close the shop up and hit the road for the Sunday.
We’ll also look at doing a couple weekend meetings, at this point that’s looking like the oOple race in mid-summer and the F345s at the end of the season.
We’re also planning on supporting TORCH regularly, and are hoping to sponsor an special rcLazy meeting there at some point.
Also, there will be dabbling with a few other classes. Bob will no doubt dip his toe in touring cars again, and I’m hoping to try my hand at 8th if I can blag a car for a meeting or two.
